Who we are

 

Varex Bioscience Limited (Varex Bio) is the controller of any personal data described in this notice. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17220992, with our registered office at 89 Gawsworth Road, Macclesfield, England, SK11 8UQ.

What this website does, and does not do

​

This website has no contact form, no login, no shopping and no newsletter. We do not use advertising or tracking technologies, and we do not build profiles of visitors or use personal data to make automated decisions about anyone.

The only personal data we hold from this website is what you choose to send us by email, together with the technical information our hosting provider records in order to serve the site to you.

If you email us

The site lists two addresses: enquiries@varexbio.com for general and press enquiries, and investors@varexbio.com for investor enquiries. If you write to either, we hold your name, your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message.

We use it only to deal with your enquiry and, where relevant, to correspond with you further about it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us and in conducting our business. Where correspondence relates to a possible investment, we also rely on the need to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

We do not add anyone to a mailing list, and we do not pass enquiries to anyone outside the company and its professional advisers.

Health information — please do not send it

​

Part of this website describes 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. We are not able to give advice on personal medical matters, and we ask that you do not send us information about your own health or the health of anyone else. If you do, we will delete it as soon as we have replied, and we will not keep a record of it. Please raise medical questions with your own clinician or genetics service.

How long we keep it

​

General and press enquiries are kept for as long as it takes to deal with the enquiry, and then deleted. Investor correspondence, and any investor certification we receive, is kept for six years from the end of our correspondence with you, because we are required to be able to show who was sent what and on what basis. Anything about a person’s health, sent to us unasked, is deleted as soon as we have replied.

Who else is involved

​

Two service providers process personal data on our behalf, on our instructions, under contract. Wix hosts this website and records the technical information described below. Microsoft provides our email through Microsoft 365.

Both may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, it is done under the safeguards permitted by UK data protection law. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We may share information with our professional advisers where we need their advice, and with a regulator or court where we are required to.

Technical information and cookies

Our hosting provider records information such as your internet protocol address, browser type and the pages you visit, in order to serve the site and keep it secure. Cookies are covered separately in our cookie notice.

Your rights

​

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you; to have it corrected if it is wrong; to ask us to delete it; to ask us to restrict how we use it; to object to our using it; and, in some circumstances, to receive it in a portable form. Write to enquiries@varexbio.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or by telephone on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so that we can put it right.

This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data about anyone under 18.
